Electrical appliance revision at Masaryk dormitory

Electrical appliances will be inspected on Friday, December 13, and Sunday, December 15. The exact times will be confirmed later via email to those who are interested. Inspections will begin on the 6th floor, so please ensure you are in your room and prepared at that time.

Price and Instructions:

  • The cost for each appliance inspection is 40 CZK, payable in cash only – please prepare the exact amount.
  • Decide in advance which appliances you want to have inspected.
  • Unplug all appliances from the socket and ensure that their labels are clearly visible.

Appliances subject to inspection:
All appliances except those that are still under warranty.

Temporarily disabled cable connection

Dear members,

today, 19.11.2024, until 23:59, Ethernet connection could be temporarily disabled in some rooms (G206c, R304, R303, R302, R301, R207, R206, R205, R202, R201, O207a, B303, B302, B301, B207, B206, B205, B202, B201, Y311, Y310, Y309, Y302). We are working on improving the wired connection.

The hot water malfunction on 31.10.2024

The management of Masaryk Dormitory would like to inform you that, due to a malfunction, hot water will be limited. One of the boilers had to be shut down, and the Facility Manager is currently working on repairs. Hot water should be available at least partially.

Preventive sprays against insects

The management of Masaryk dormitory would like to inform, that the disinfection – professional preventive spraying against insects will take place throughout the entire building of MK on November 12-13, 2024, in the morning (starting at 8:30 AM):

  • 12.11.2024 – 6th, 5th, 4th floors
  • 13.11.2024 – 3rd, 2nd floors

How to prepare your room?
  • we kindly ask students to provide maximum access to both common areas (kitchens and bathrooms) and rooms;
  • store food in cupboards;
  • please prepare the room for spraying.
How does the spraying work, and what should you do afterwards?
  • it takes about 5 minutes to treat each room;
  • the spraying will be applied to the floors throughout the cell area (rooms);
  • the spray is non-toxic, for maximum effect we will ask you to leave the room between 8:30 AM and 1:00 PM;
  • once the spray dries, it will take effect. Do not wipe the sprayed areas for 2 days!

Property inventory

The management of Masaryk dormitory would like to inform all students that during October and at the beginning of November, from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM, there will be physical inventories of property conducted by an authorized dormitory employee. Please provide access to the common areas of your rooms. We kindly ask for your cooperation in keeping the common areas and rooms clean. Labels that need to be scanned can be found on every piece of furniture in the room. Clothes on chairs and clutter in the rooms may slow down the inventory process. If you have personal items(such as a refrigerator, chair, etc.), please label them clearly with “PRIVATE PROPERTY” in a visible spot.
